Collegiate Residential Vision & Historic Site Context

Developed as a conceptual design proposal, the scheme for the Fellows’ Accommodation was conceived to provide academic staff with quiet, daylight-flooded residential environments. Cavaleri Partnership designed the concept to complement the surrounding architectural heritage of St John's College while maintaining a contemporary residential character.

Proposed Architectural Highlights & Design Features

Derived strictly from the concept design brief, the proposal incorporates:

  • Academic Spatial Layouts: Formulated interior floor plates incorporating private living quarters, integrated study areas, and communal spaces for academic reflection.

  • Environmental & Passive Design Strategy: Conceptually embedded high-performance thermal insulation, natural ventilation pathways, and low-energy heating systems.

  • Landscape & Courtyard Orientation: Oriented window openings and access thresholds toward views of mature site trees and private college gardens.
